The small village of Vibbiana (about 700 m asl) is situated very close to the well known Orecchiella National Park, well known for its uncrowded trails and byways from which visitors can enjoy the local wildlife and flora. These include royal eagles, royal owls, hawk, deer and the recently re-introduced rams and wolves.

Piazza al Serchio provides all day to day shopping and services as well as a weekly market, open air swimming pool and train station the main Pisa-Lucca-Aulla line.
Vibbiana is about 1 ¼ hours from Lucca by car and just over 1 ½ hours from Pisa.
