Traditional, stone built 4 bedroom village house with terrace and garden in the centre of the historic village of Fabbriche di Vallico (population 526 , 269 m asl).
The house is in move-in condition and has a floor area of about 225 sqm, laid out over 3 floors (including large cellar/workshop area below).
A large arched door opens into an imposing lounge with solid chestnut floorboards and beams. A door leads to the terrace which overlooks the garden (about 70 sqm) with its cherry tree and wood store, which dates back to the days when everybody had their own pig and was originally the pig sty.
The bathroom and separate WC room are both accessed from the balcony.
A door from the lounge opens into the large dining kitchen which has a number of original features such as corner ash tub (for laundry), stone sink, open fire and little traditional oven. The floor is covered with original terracotta tiles. The main landing is accessed from the kitchen and has wooden steps up the bedrooms and down to the cellars/workshop.
Upstairs there are 4 double bedrooms, the smallest of which would make a great family bathroom. Wooden floorboards. Covered beams.
The cellar/workshop area has the same layout as the main living area. It has chestnut beams, arched doorways, a traditional pizza/bread oven and access to the garden and wood store.
Although the house does not have central heating, it can easily be attached to mains gas which is available just outside.
Car parking is available in the village car park about 100m from the property.
The centre of the village of Fabbriche di Vallico, with its trout filled stream (“Turrite Cava”), 3 restaurants, 2 cafés, hairdresser, post office, chemist, grocery shops and ironmongery (specialising in fishing gear), is just a couple of minutes walk away.
Just 10 minutes drive away is Fornaci di Barga, which has a very wide choice of shops and services, as well as a train station on the main line from Pisa airport and Lucca.
