The village has its own nursery and primary school, while secondary schooling is available in Piazza al Serchio, just 5km from the property. There is a tennis court and “bocce” (bowls) in the village. Both Sillano and the surrounding villages organise a number of festivals throughout the year.

Piazza al Serchio also provides many shops and amenities, including an open-air swimming pool. It has a train station on the main Pisa/Lucca to Aulla train line.
