Beautifully and sympathetically restored water mill retaining a wealth of original features from the original mill as well as solid chestnut beams and original stone floors, includes adjoining barn bordering stream
The Water Mill has a welcoming open plan dining kitchen/living area, hand built and restored by craftsmen using local wood and includes a built in dishwasher and fridge. Unless the weather is particularly cold, the wood burning stove provides plenty of heating. Central heating to radiators is also available from gas bottles.
Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms with lovely views and a bathroom with separate shower.
The pretty garden is divided into different areas including a picnic area with solid wood table and benches, small pond, and a small stream running through the mill.
Externally there is also a utility room with freezer and washing machine.
Valbona is a beautiful, traditional medieval mountain village at 673 m asl through which flows the Esarulo river.
In medieval times there was only the mill which served the local area and the Verucchia Castle. Little by little, other buildings sprang up around the mill until a small village grew, complete with little church. Today, it has changed very little although restoration carried out by the 30 or so residents in the last few years have given back to the village its “picture postcard” beauty.
