Pretty 2-bedroom village house with lovely, far reaching views across the valley to villages and mountains beyond. South facing terrace, ideal for relaxation and “al fresco” dining.
The ground floor of a semi-detached traditional stone built barn, just across village lane from house is available separately at 5000 euros. This provides a large storage space with electricity and is currently used as a wood store.
The house is just a couple of minutes walk to the local grocery shop/café and village car park (it is possible to drive to the house for loading and unloading).
The village of Massa Sassorosso (about 900m asl) derives its name from the lovely red stone found in the area. The village itself is very pretty and well kept with its arches, terraces and stone houses and lanes.
Apart from the village shop, there are various shops and services in Castiglione di Garfagnana, just 5km away while the market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (10km) has a very wide range of shops and services, including hospital, swimming pool and trains station on the Pisa line. Pisa is about 75km away.
The house is in move-in condition, with sound walls and roof.
Entry to the property from the stone village street is via a gate into a very pretty, sunny veranda/garden (about 25 sqm), which in the summer is shaded by a vine pergola. There are lovely open views, making this outside space ideal for relaxation or dining. There are roses, rosemary, lilac and other fragrant flowers as well as a small vegetable corner and outside water tap.
The main door opens onto a hallway, which leads to a very large bedroom (25 sqm - sleeps 4 and currently has 2 single beds and a sofa bed) with window to the veranda and tiled floor. An en-suite could be created in this large bedroom.
J Just across the hallway are the 4-piece bathroom with window, and the dining room (12 sqm), which leads through to the simple kitchen (with large window and great views).
Heating is provided via wood burning stoves located in the kitchen , dining room and hall (although gas connections are available right outside the house). There is a new boiler in the bathroom, which provides hot water to the kitchen and bathroom.
A few steps at the end of the corridor lead to a pretty reception room (about 14 sqm) with tiled floor, open fire and corner cupboard (which was originally a corner kitchen). To the left is bedroom 2 (14 sqm), with tiled floor and window. There is direct access outside from the reception room.
