Casa Luanna is a traditional terraced house with a leafy mountain outlook, about 1.5km (20 mins walk) from the centre of Barga. Beautifully restored and updated in 2013, it could be used as a comfortable family home or investment property (it has been successfully rented over the summer months since it was restored).

There are 4 double bedrooms and rooftop terrace with magnificent views of the mountains. Across the road, there is a little trout-filled stream Corsonna. On-street parking as well as a small public car park along the road.

Central heating system with new radiators in all rooms which runs from a large capacity pellet heater in the lounge. The heating is combined with an electric boiler which is solar panel ready (all plumbing is in place to accommodate the panels). Partly double-glazed.

Casa Luanna is laid out as follows –

Ground floor: Front door opens onto brand new fitted dining kitchen (electric oven, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher) with archway through to comfortable lounge. Cloakroom/WC. Storage area. Stone stairs to 1st floor.

1st floor: Two double bedrooms with views across mountains. Shower room with WC, basin and bidet

2nd floor: Twin bedroom with original chestnut beamed ceiling. Double bedroom. Striking contemporary shower with WC and basin. Polished concrete stairs to roof terrace

Terrace: Terracotta tiled roof terrace with spectacular views over the surrounding area

With Ponte di Catagnana and the bar/café “Sosta dei Diavoli” (the Devils' Rest) just a short stroll from the house.

Barga, about 1.5km away, is a lively, cosmopolitan town with a wide variety of cafés, restaurants, shops and services. The town is the cultural hub of the surrounding area, with an opera house, a jazz festival, and a number of outdoor feasts, dances and concerts.

There is also a modern, well-run open-air swimming pool, which has a bar and café, comfortable deck chairs and beautiful views. The Old Town, which dates back to medieval times, is a honeycomb of winding, cobbled alleys and stairways, leading up to a beautiful Cathedral.

There is a train station in the nearby town of Fornaci di Barga on the direct line from Pisa/Lucca . Services are cheap and regular and connect with all the major towns and cities in the region.
