The week was very nice with 2 other families. Superb property nestled in the mountains. You have to want to get there, but when you're there you do not want to leave the pool and the view! The movements are a little long compared to the beautiful Tuscan cities, but it is the price of tranquility. Owner very present and very kind!

5 stars. Enchanting place with a magnificent view

We rented all three houses for 12 people, which worked very well. The grounds and the area are typically Tuscan, very charming and beautiful. The propertymanager is very helpful and available. The pool area is particularly nice and the teenagers spent all day there :-) Nearby you’ll find Lucca, winetasting, hiking and many other activities. Highly recommendable.

What a great property 5 stars

We couldnt say anything more than perfecto! The location was secluded but not too far from town. The host was amazing and the property was beautiful, clean and wonderful.

We booked all three apartments for a family holiday. They were very clean and well looked after with all the facilities we needed. The pool was great with an amazing view. Loriano was helpful and kind offering us fresh tomatoes from the garden and home made cakes. A brilliant week.

Beautiful tranquil setting with stunning views!  ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We spent a week at this propert in late August. We rented out all three of the locations on site.
The surrounding views are outstanding.
A retreat for anyone wishing a quiet relaxing time away from it all. Nearest supermarket is in Gallicano, a 20 minute drive down the mountain.
It was a little difficult to find. It's 800 meters high and only road is narrow and very windy. Blink and you will miss the turn to La Foce. but the magnificent views once there make it worthwhile.
Villa Edera and Villa Eden is one house split in two with identtial layout on both floors. Two double bedrooms, one bathroom, double sofa bed in living area which includes kitchen facilities including dishwasher.
Villa Edera, the lower floor has very large patio area.
Villa Eden has smaller patio area to the front.
The metado is located next to the pool and has one double bedroom and one single sofa bed. Very quaint. Our breakfast view in the morning was stunning.
The pool was lovely, slightly on the cold side for me but the kids loved it and it was hard to rear them away.
Loriano, the owner was on hand on arrival to welcome us and explain the facilities to us.
Everything is catered for. A couple bikes and helmrts. There's even bbq.
Washing machine & iron is located in laundry room, which serves all three apartments.
Everything was very clean.
Enough outside table chairs and sun loungers for all.
There is room for 2 cars on site with additional parking a few metres away.
Thank you to Loriano and his wife for having such a delightful place.
We highly recommend and would definitely look at staying again!

Pleasant stay in magnificent property Magnificent property, surrounded by a large garden well maintained, quiet and not overlooked. Beautiful exhibition and very beautiful panorama. The three apartments, independent, are comfortable, well arranged, equipped with all the necessary (BBQ, oven, dishwasher ....). Nice swimming pool with many sunbeds. A discreet owner and available at any time if necessary. A big thank you to his wife for the two welcome cakes. Here no bail or inventory, only mutual trust and respect are required. To see absolutely: Lucca and its ramparts, Pisa, its tower "pendente" and its course of the miracles. To do in the natural park of Orrido di Bottri: up the stream to reach a natural swimming pool (provide good sneakers). Only flat, first traders in 20mn (winding mountain roads and very narrow - do not forget the butter ...).

Wonderful views, amazing place   ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a wonderful stay at Erica - it really is a gorgeous place and the photographs don't do it justice! It is a long drive (20mins) up the mountain but the road isn't bad, and the views are absolutely breathtaking. Erica is spacious, clean and has been converted to a high standard but the real selling point is the outdoor space, with plenty of places to sit, eat or just enjoy the view. Its very quiet due to its location so if its nightlife you're looking for then this isn't the place for you but its perfect for a barbeque and relaxing with a bottle of wine or 2! Loriano, the host, is lovely and calls in twice a day to check everything is OK, he brought us veg from his garden and encouraged us to help ourselves to salad too. The pool is clean and refreshing and is scented by the jasmine bushes that grow around it.

July 2017 - We had an absolutely wonderful time and there really is nothing that Loriano could do to improve, he was a lovely kind host and we loved meeting him and seeing the pride he rightly has for his property.

Absolutely enjoyed our stay here very much. Stunning views from the property. Very comfortable accommodation. Good beds, fully equiped kitchen en lovely swimmingpool. We walked to the nearest village, but it does take about 30 mins and the way back is mostly uphill. However, if you stock up on food and drink you really wouldn't have to leave :). Have a bbq, sip the local wine and just relax! Can definitely recommend!

My travel and accommodation history spans snow holes to seven star accommodation and the fact that I'm returning to Metato, for the fourth time, speaks volumes. This is the Italian, Rural Idyll. Metato is a beautifully converted chestnut hut, offering stunning views and the perfect, romantic, private, Italian retreat for those who wish to experience true, rural Italy. It is a great location for brilliant walks, scrambles, views, gastronomy and culture in nearby towns. We've stayed there three times, in different seasons to appreciate varied flora, autumnal scents, snow and daffodils. The house itself is lovely, cosy and has everything you would need for this style of holiday. It is well maintained by the attentive, yet unintrusive owners who care about their property and their guests. In the area; Barga for art, food, views and all-round loveliness. Grotto del Vento for geological interest and adventure, Lucca for food, cafe society, style, music, opera, festivals and a bike or tandem ride around the city walls. Numerous day hikes with terrain to include pastures, towering rock escarpments, woodland, forest, ridges, summits and stream-side rambling. Numerous little cafes, restaurants, places of historical and cultural interest tucked away in delightfully surprising places. This place is a gem and we have already booked to go back.

1/5 Stunning scenery and lovely surrounds but accommodation very poor. Tired and dated furniture, generally too small and basic, lots of things didn't work properly. Worst accommodation we've stayed in - would not recommend.

5/5 Andrew Biggs, Maidstone - What a fabulous location, villa and area - we will be back. The pictures of the villa inside do not do it justice. The decor and fittings are of very high quality and it’s perfect for a little hideaway. The views are outstanding and it’s location results in sun from sunrise to sunset with breathtaking views that change as the light alters during the day. Beautiful and we sign posted walks on your doorstep and within driving distance if you fancy something more challenging. The owner Mr Pocai is very hospitable but not at all intrusive; his restaurant is rustic and simple but what food and great value for money. I cannot recommend this highly enough for tranquility and time away from the pressures of day to day life.

Christine and william alexander Yorkshire England We loved this property. It was very clean, very well maintained, the owner, Mr Pocia, was very hospitable. Pool lovely, scenery breathtaking and nearby town of Molazzano and Gallicano had shop and supermarket. Highly recommend this.
