Gem - mountains and nature
The house and the huge, hilly garden gave us everything we needed. The large and deep swimming pool is ideal for bathing fun with older children. Our dog was able to move freely on the fenced area. Car is required. The access to the property is narrow, stony and in parts steep. + great view of the valley and the surrounding mountains + friendly, caring landlords + places worth seeing in the area (cities, villages, historic bridges and buildings) + restaurants, grocery stores, cafes easily accessible by car + no mass tourism + hikes in the area Garden gate possible
The location of it's house is beautiful, the pool large and clean. On the huge property, our dog also had a lot of exercise and we spent 10 very nice days. The landlords were very friendly and accommodating.

|Comfortable villa, set in large private garden with views over nearby lake and mountains. Particularly enjoyed cooking in the outdoor Pizza oven. The local town has all amenities required , There is a really big street market on a Thursday, plus some really good cafes and restaurants. We would defiantly go again.

dreamlike Fantastic view, cozy and top clean house even with a cleaning after a week! Only the driveway is very adventurous.
La Piestra in Castelnuovo
Very nice holiday home on a piece of land with a lovely large private swimming pool. Our car could not climb the last path to the house, goes up very steeply. The entire garden is also arranged in floors, but for people who have difficulty walking. Beautiful view, very friendly owners who want to do everything for you. In short, a great place if you have good mobility and you have a strong car

5 stars - It was a dream
The house is in a fantastic location and a fantastic view. Everything was as described and nothing was missing. The service of the couple Suffredini with daily pool cleaning is excellent. If you need something no problem. The property is huge and in the fall full fruit trees.
Everything is arranged with love in the house and terrace.
I would book the holiday home again immediately.

5 stars Idyllic
What a wonderful property, it was cosy but perfectly big enough for 4, and very well equipped. The view was wonderful, and the garden huge and full of fruit trees and flowers, even after a week we didn’t quite manage to explore it to its boundaries. The owners were charming and very hospitable. They came to tend the garden but were very unobtrusive, just leaving us gifts of fruit and honey. Would definitely return.

Perfect property and location ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We stayed at La Piastra for 2 weeks in August. It was so idyllic. A perfect haven away from the hustle and bustle. The house is located in 4 acres or more of mature fruit trees and offers wonderful views over the mountains. The pool was perfect for us and our 2 teenage boys and the ping pong table an added bonus. There were plenty of restaurants and local food stores nearby so an ideal location.

4 stars Beautiful well maintained holiday home on a beautiful plot.
The house has everything you need on holiday. Very nice landlords who have supplied us generously from their "Garden of Eden". We really enjoyed the tranquility of the place. In the evening it is pleasantly cool.
The area invites to beautiful mountain tours. Castelnouvo is a tranquil town with a typical medieval town center - perfect for strolling and enjoying.
Very quiet. Everything was very clean. Nice pool. Well maintained, very eitläufige outdoor area.
Just returned from 2 weeks staying in this villa with my wife,
all the positive reviews for this villa are very accurate, it is a beautiful house, lovely pool and garden area, Mr and Mrs Suffredini were perfect hosts,
ideally situated just far enough away from the town to have the rural feeling, and having the train station in the town with free parking just outside the station was ideal for our trips to Lucca, Florence Rome Cinque Terre,
we will definitely be booking this villa again for future holidays.

A delightful hillside cottage with lovely mountain views and 'the best pool ever'!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We felt welcomed from the start by the Suffredinis, the owners, who were kind and patient with our poor Italian. They visited most days to tend their extensive gardens around the property, but were not intrusive at all and were delighted to tell us about their hives and fruit trees - they invited us to eat the figs and provided us with honey and other local produce.
The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped and had good outdoor and indoor living spaces which accommodated two adults and two teenagers well.
The pool, which has attracted the rating of 'the best ever', was located away from the house and was very private and large, which allowed some of us to do our daily lengths and others to play.
We visited Lucca by train from the station in Castelnuovo, as well as Pisa for the day by car. The local town catered for all our shopping needs and we loved the small bustling streets of the older town. We also visited local villages by car and foot, as well as the remains of a large hill fort outside Castelnuovo di Garfagnana.
All in all a really lovely relaxing week.
