Just 20 mins from lucca, yet in the depths of the countryside, this really is an ideal location!

The site has been developed and restored with lots of love and care, and the property retains beamed ceilings, cotto flooring, traditional chestnut windows etc and has been furnished in tuscan style, giving the feel of real olde worlde italy.

Add to this the gorgeous gardens, the romantic feel outdoor areas, fantastic views, private pool, fantastic outdoor dining under the pergola, and cooking/bbq/pizza oven area this is an ideal spot to have your holiday and relax away the stresses of everyday life.

The owners are happy to help with all you need and they have an orto with fresh veg for you to use, they will cook for you on request and even provide simple cookery lessons.

There are bicycles on site, a little lake with 'fishing for fun' , lots of parking. What with air conditioning and insect screens too, the owners have thought of everything....

The property sleeps a maximum of 12 but you can be flexible re which additional beds you use to make this configuration.

A little about the area

Situated in the depths of the countryside yet just 20 mins from Lucca, this really is the ideal location. Up in the hills set in beautiful gardens, with tuscan cypress trees, lots of flowers and a feeling of pure peace....

Local facilities can be found in Ponte a Moriano which is 3/4km away where there are restaurants and shopping, and the most photographed Bridge in Tuscany! For days when you don't want to go out at all, and don't feel like cooking or BBQing the owners will cook for you on request!

For days out, there is of course Lucca which is only a 20 minute drive and is somewhere one can visit many times to soak up the atmosphere.

This fully walled mediaeval City has been voted the best City in Italy on more than one occasion, and has a relaxed feel... One can meander along or cycle along the ample walls, stopping off for a rest or a sleep  in the parks on the wall and there are even some cafes/restaurants on the wall too!

Inside the walls there are 99 churches, various towers to climb, lots of piazzas for icecreams or people watching, regular outdoor music, designer shops, and of course, being the birthplace of Puccini, opera! There is a recital every evening.

Come in July and book for the Summer Festival - a fortnight of concerts from well known names -there has been Elton John, Simply Red, The Killers, Paolo Nutini, Ricky Martin (for a party!), The Rolling Stones, Robbie Willians, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, to name but a few... Most concerts take place in the Piazza Napoleone - an intimate and unique outdoor venue.

• Pietrasanta - 50 mins
• Spa town of Montecatini - 45 mins
• Pistoia - also often with outdoor concerts at its Blues venues - less than an hour.
• Florence - 90 mins
• Siena - 2 hrs
• The Hills of the beautiful and rugged Garfagnana - 30 to 40 mins - here there is the wonderful town of Barga to visit, the Wind Caves, The fortress of Verrucole, the National Park of Orrechiella, and a host of other gems too.
