Newly renovated mountain village house with own pool, set in tiny mediaeval village with a population of less than 80 people.
This is a chance to experience real olde worlde Italy!
This fresh and airy village house has just been fully refurbished and offers spacious 2 bedroom accommodation, with one double room, one twin and a large open plan living/kitchen/diner with sofa bed for extra guests.

This area opens straight out onto a  patio with relaxing seating which itself overlooks the pool and sunbathing area. There is also a cool covered dining area with BBQ for al fresco dining.
There are other houses around, but the area is still sleepy and peaceful and there is some screening at the pool area. Two of the houses near the pool area are unused and the other keeps shutters closed and uses windows the other side of their house for the views.
The village is surrounded by stunning mountain views and feels a world away from real life.. There is a little bar which opens around 8:30pm for late drinks, and for restaurants there is a range of options in Camporgiano which is only a 2.5km drive away. Here there are also shops, a supermarket, train station, privately owned castle and you can drive down to the river at a point where you can paddle and swim.
This is a fantastic opportunity to experience a really different  holiday in a non touristy area, but with plenty of scope for day trips too.

The property:

  • Enter into open plan living/kitchen/diner. Kitchen fully equipped with oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster. WIFI
  • Upstairs to hallway leading to  Double bedroom with plenty of storage, and  double aspect twin room. Spacious pristine shower room with cubicle, and WV, bidet, sink.

Outside:

  • Leave living area via double doors onto relaxing patio. Then to the right, a covered eating area with BBQ; Own pool with sunbathing area.
  • The garden gets the sun all day.
  • Village views with mountain backdrop.

Come and experience a really authentic Italian trip in the mountains!

A little about the area:

This cottage is set in the tiny old mountain village of Puglianella which is a small, well kept village with only 80 inhabitants. Traditional building abound and there is a beautiful bell tower.

  • There is a village 2km either side of the house each of which has a good restaurant.  Other villages with fuller facilities are around a 10 minute drive away and there is a choice of good quality places to eat.
  • The large village of Camporgiano is around 10 mins and has all facilities including a train station for stress free exploring, shops, some restaurants, river where one can swim etc .
  • The market town of Castelnuovo is a 20 mins or so drive from the house and Thursday morning is market time!
  • The mediaeval town of Barga is less than a 30 minute drive and this town is renowned for its art, music and good restaurants, all situated around tiny piazzas, with mountain backdrop.
  • Lucca is just over an hour away and is a great day out - Lucca - charming fully walled City which one can cycle around. Interesting architecture, cobbled streets, lots of Piazzas for people watching with a glass of wine or gelato. There are cultural events, regular antiques markets, designer shops, opera recitals etc.
  • Pisa airport is around a 90 minutes or so drive and Genoa is 2 hrs 15 mins.
  • More locally there is the Fortress at Verrucole with amazing views, the zip wire park with courses for adults and children alike, swimming in the river, the National Park of Orrecchiella, and lots of hilltop villages for meandering around and taking in the atmosphere.

Plenty of places to picnic, and also a walkers paradise!

Ideal for couples and families alike, looking for a peaceful authentic experience
