A lovingly designed house with a warm atmosphere
An above-average, lovingly designed accommodation that is ideally suited for 8 people. The owners live nearby and are very friendly, obliging and uncomplicated. The large pool allowed us to enjoy the summer heat, which is easy to bear due to the location of the house itself. The pizza oven and a fireplace with a gigantic view are hard to beat.

Great Holiday!
We had a great holiday in this wonderful holiday home. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. The grounds including the pool and garden are in exemplary condition. There are alpacas, chickens, guinea pigs and tortoises on site, which is a highlight for all children. The surrounding area of Garfagnana is very winding but beautiful. Lucca and Castelnuovo are within easy reach of the holiday home. Conclusion: We will be back!

beautiful place to stay

We enjoyed the holiday very much. The property is clean, very spacious, very well equipped and ideal for up to eight guests. Very quiet environment/secluded location. Landlord can be reached at any time for questions or similar. Animals on site (chickens, turtles, alpaca). The only drawback: seating on terrace without backrest.

Excellent villa surrounded by greenery, perfect for our group of 8 boys. We enjoyed the interior of the house, equipped with all comforts; but above all we have exploited the fantastic garden with swimming pool of the property. The porch is incomparable, under which we spent most of our time in the hottest hours of the day. Dear Clara, the owner, who never made us miss anything and gave us fresh eggs from the hens in the garden. On the property there are also Sammy and Sansone, two friendly alpacas who kept us company during our stay. Date of arrival - 24 June 2021
Lovely house and garden ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We are a family of five, with three children between 9 and 11. We loved the pool, and the outside eating area, and the rustic barbeque. The house itself had masses of charm. There is a great living room/den where the kids could watch an occasional dvd. The kitchen could do with a bit of storage space, but was functional enough. My daughter enjoyed feeding the chickens and the tortoise. Great views. We didn't do much other than the odd trip to Castelnuevo, and a bit of cycling, but the property is great if you just want to relax by the pool. Riccardo, the owner, was very welcoming, and really helpful.

The location is amazing with fantastic views! This is a great family-friendly house with a stunning pool, great BBQ and traditional pizza oven. We were well looked after by the owners with fresh eggs and vegetables. The local villages have all the amenities required including some lovely restaurants. We'll visit again!

Great villa with an excellent pool and garden ★ ★ ★ ★
We loved our stay at Rustico Lamola. The house was perfect for us, 4 adults and 4 kids. When we arrived we got some eggs from the hens living on the property! There were also two tortoises living in the backyard which the kids loved to feed with lettuce. The garden was in great condition with a lot of flowers, lemon trees, tomatoes, lettuce, zucchini, strawberries and fresh herbs. The kids loved the pool. It being a saltwater pool was actually a big plus. Much better than a chlorinated pool. We ate all our meals under the pergola in front of the house. It was really nice to be able to sit all together outside in the shade. We used the pizza oven outside two times during our stay and the pizzas came out really great. The closest grocery store was only 5 minutes with car and if you wanted a wider selection you could drive 25 minutes to the nearest super store. The house didn’t have air condition, but that didn’t matter since the temperature was about 22 degrees during the night (due to cold mountain air) even though it was above 30 during the day. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay.

Very rustic but we love it ★ ★ ★ ★
This was our third visit. As always if a slight problem is encountered nothing is too much trouble for it to be rectified. Visited some of our favourite haunts but found it relaxing just staying at the property soaking up the sun and that lovely view. Garden so well stocked with herbs of which we took advantage. We were invited to help ourselves to any fruit or vegetables growing on the property too.

Very nice and private property - very kind owners 5 stars
A perfect place to start a Tuscany holiday.
The estate:
Very comfortable, good and generously furnished. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is noticeable that the owners use the house on time and value functionality.
The property:
Very well maintained with small herb garden where you can find Italian cuisine.
The pool is of course the absolute highlight. As generous as you can swim into embarrassment. We enjoyed it despite the low temperatures and the frequent rain every day. There is also an outside shower (a small grotto modeled) a separate bathroom to the pool side, which has a shower and a toilet.
The property is not visible from the outside and you have absolute privacy.
The passing road is very little traffic.
The owner:
Unfortunately, our knowledge of Italian is very limited, so we had to communicate with hands and gestures.
We were greeted very warmly and were sent into the house. On the second day got a giant basket with tomatoes and cucumbers from own cultivation. In addition, the owner provided us always with fresh eggs, which he took every 1-2 days from the small chicken stall connected to the property.
Conclusion:
Perfect for recreation seekers.
We enjoyed the time incredibly and would definitely go back.
Highly recommended.

We have a very nice holiday here. We were 4 adults and 5 children and were 14 days here. It never got boring. The large pool provided a lot of fun and cool for young and old. The house had everything and there was plenty of space for everyone. We enjoyed every meal on the large covered terrace.
Especially great is the location of the house. An unobstructed view of the valleys and surrounding mountains. There are no neighbors, so we could enjoy every day (also with partly louder) music and the children could be children. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for excursions. We would like to thank the landlords, who surprised us with fresh eggs, fruit (delicious figs, hmm) and salad. We felt very comfortable. Thanks also to the agency, the service was top

Clean, well maintained house and facilities. We loved the fresh herbs that was free for use, the real pizza oven, the fresh eggs from the hens in the pen next to the lawn. The saltwater pool was perfect to spend much time in due to the low chlorine content. Very helpful owner. Several nice small villages in the vicinity and pretty close to Luca. If you like to skip driving theres a train station nearby that takes you to Luca and further. We would definitely recommend this house to our friends. |

“Fabulous Tuscan retreat”
Reviewed September 28, 2015 NEW
Our family of 4 stayed here in July 2015. There was plenty of space in and around the grounds which was ideal. The al fresco eating area was very enjoyable and surrounded by beautiful views. The pool.area was well kept and particularly enjoyed by the children
The local restaurants were of a high standard and highly recommended.
The property is lovely and remote and an ideal retreat for those seeking an away from it all break.
“Stunning views and relaxing stay”

Our family of 6 stayed here in late August 2015. The pool, though unheated was used daily by the kids, even on a rainy day. There was plenty of space both inside the house and in the immaculately kept grounds. It's very peaceful there, the only sounds being the pool filter and the peacock. We loved the outdoor area where we ate all our meals. Thanks to the beautiful shelter it was fine to eat out there in the rain even and enjoy the spectacular views. We were not troubled by mosquitos either which were a problem just an hour further away. The bathrooms, the pool and the views were the best we've ever had in a holiday house. We also loved the local pizzeria and the local high ropes park. Just be prepared for a long trek from the airport on mountain roads, it's worth it.
Great relaxing holiday! |

“Tuscan Bliss”
Reviewed September 22, 2015 NEW
We spend 8 days at Rustico Lamola with extended family (six people). From the welcome to the time we left, it was clear this place was special. The house is beautifully decorated with private places to relax and communal spaces to congregate. The views were out of this world and privacy was absolute. The pool was fabulous fun with a spa feature which we all loved. The pool was fairly cold but perfect for warm days in Summer. Highly recommended!
“A lovely villa in an astoundingly beautiful location”
Reviewed August 31, 2015
The villa is comfortable (perfect for two families of four) and well provisioned, but the real selling point is the outside: a lovely eating area beneath the wisteria, a good barbecue with huge wood shed, and an absolutely fantastic view across the valley and up to the fortezza.
We were well looked after, with regular pool cleans and supplies of fresh tomatoes and pears. Look out for the pet tortoises and peacock who live here! A really good location: lots of places to eat and visit within walking distance (including a go-ape style zipwire park on the way up to the fortezza) plus a number of local supermarkets and wineries for supplies, and it is easy to drive along the valley to local towns and further afield to Lucca for example. We had a wonderful time here.

Everything about Rustico Lamola is amazing - the house, views, location and facilities was perfect! We were a extended family of six with several generations in the same house. As the house has plenty of private spaces, cohabiting was easy. Dinner times could be enjoyed inside and out with large tressles to seat big groups. It was tranquil in the evenings (absolutely silent). Highly recommended! |

Wonderful house in a great location |

We stayed here in August 2015 and had a wonderful time (two families of four, kids aged 12-16). The house is great, especially the large shaded terrace and the pool. Friendly guys arrived to clean the pool and give us delicious tomatoes! Also a beautiful location - views of wooded mountains. Lovely and quiet, but still easy to walk to two nearby villages (San Romano and Camporgiano). Lots of interesting and beautiful places to visit within an hour's drive, including walks in the mountains. This part of Tuscany is cooler and more peaceful than the South. We had a great holiday and we did not want to leave... |
