A beautiful house in the mountains of Barga that invites you to relax. The view is as pictured in the mountains. Check-in and check-out went smoothly thanks to Maraica. Everything was shown and explained to us when we checked in. A lot of things were already in the house and we could use them. The indoor and outdoor facilities were well maintained. Parking without problems, enough shops in the area (less than 10 minutes away) and a lot of good restaurants.

The villa is in an excellent position, from which you can enjoy an incredible view of Barga while remaining a ten-minute drive from the center. The house is very spacious, has a barbecue and a lovely veranda from which you can shelter from the summer heat. Recommended for a holiday away from the usual crowds.

Jane Ann Coulter Hampshire Our third visit to this wonderful property, perfectly situated in glorious Tuscan countryside. Barga is a fascinating town with plent of restaurants and bars to amuse oneself after a leisurely stroll through the old town. Whether you are taking breakfast by the pool or sitting under cover enjoying a BBQ and a bottle of local vino looking out at the surrounding hills one is transfixed and totally at ease. Why leave! We will be revisiting without doubt.

Jane-Ann Hants We stayed in this delightful villa for the third time this April. It is such a magic and serene location. Great to relax in the wonderfully appointed home from home. Although it was not warm enough to use the pool when we were there the garden is great for al fresco dining while soaking up the view of Barga and the distant mountains. We will be back again I am sure.

Beautiful villa with a good sized swimming pool. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Our second year in a row staying at Casa Roc, and again it was a wonderful holiday. The villa is very clean and very well equipped. A car is essential to get to Barga (nearest town for provisions). We made very good use of the local restaurant, The Terrazza, 5 min walk from Casa Roc. Excellent traditional Italian food with out of this world pizzas on a Saturday night. There is no need to go anywhere when you are at Casa Roc, but if you feel like a day trip the villa has many leaflets and guide books to help you decide. The views from the villa and the pool are breath taking, a fabulous place relax.

Beautiful property, beautiful house, and beautiful location. I do not recommend trying to find it for the first time in the dark.... was difficult for us. :)
The owner is fabulous. Responds promptly with thoughtful and informative emails. Highly recommended!

Tuscan Idyll ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Albiano is a village in the Garfagnana region of northern Tuscany, very close to Barga, ‘the most Scottish town in Italy’. Both are a slightly off the tourist track, with most visitors to the area having some ancestral connection with it. This is a pity, as it is one of the most spectacular and fascinating parts of Italy, with the locals friendly and welcoming, particularly to inglese (English speakers). For a family holiday with 2 or 3 kids, Albiano Casa Roc is the perfect place to stay.
Casa Roc has pretty much everything you will need Double and twin bedrooms upstairs, single downstairs, all with en suite. Spacious living room (with dining table), kitchen and covered patio area outside, perfect for breakfast. But best of all is the pool, with sun loungers, parasols and al fresco dining area. If your kids (like mine) love swimming, this will certainly make your holiday. Pool towels are provided. We did need to scrounge a fan for night time, although admittedly the ‘Lucifer’ heatwave was exceptional, even for Italy.
Barga is walkable (although hard in the heat), but to make the most of what the area has to offer you will need a car. Shops are in Barga, with the gigantic Conad supermarket about 20 mins drive away. Eating out in Albiano means La Terrazza (4* on TripAdvisor), rustic and family-run. However, there is alot more choice if you drive.
We visit Albiano regularly, principally to visit family and friends. From now on, Casa Roc will now be our first choice when it comes to finding somewhere to stay.Date of arrival 5 Aug 2017
Just back from Casa Roc and what a fabulous place. Brilliant location , excellent villa with everything you could need. Loads of cookware, good big fridge, hairdryer etc. Recommend Barga and Lucca too plus the Fortezza delle Verrucole. The drive up to the house was a bit nerve racking to start with but we soon got used to it. Hope to come back!
Great place to spend our vacation ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had 2 perfect weeks in Casa Roc. Because of the location in the hills we had warm (but not to warm) days and perfect temperature in the nights for sleeping. The house has all you need and feels like a cosy home away from home. Fantastic views and a great pool to spend the lazy summerdays in. Barga is worth lots of visits - and not only because of the delicius italian icecream but also to experience the original italian atmosphere and calm approach to life. We would love to come back and can highly recommend the house.

Phil Reed/London Back for a second time, we can only restate what we said in June 2015: this is a truly lovely villa. What's more, the (almost fully) reliable wifi and the constant availability of hot water are practical points that make a stay here that much more comfortable and enjoyable. A brief remark about the location of the Conad store for first-time visitors: don't be fooled by the first sign welcoming you to Gallicano. (This confused us both times!) There are still several miles to go before you get to Gallicano proper. Keep going on the same road and you really can't miss it.
