When we saw the accommodation on site, we were truly speechless. We have never experienced anything even more beautiful than the pictures. Such a great house with a lovingly landscaped garden. The furnishings are so tasteful and beautiful. You immediately felt at home. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the wonderful natural surroundings. Complete deceleration! The landlord Fabio is what a great person. So nice and looked after you, left nothing to be desired. Many thanks for that. It was simply fantastic.

A great week
The Mill is a meticulously clean, superbly equipped little old stone house in the hills near Campogiano. The house has been beautifully renovated - lovely stone sink, comfortable bathroom, great outdoor areas, nice pool, benches, two outdoor tables to eat at. We grew quite attached to the house and were sad to leave. Communication with Fabio was excellent. He stopped by to say hello - beyond the call of his duty - and answer our questions. He was always responsive and courteous. Overall, a terrific time.

Wonderfully relaxing holiday
The house and pool are wonderful! The way there was difficult to find at first, but with the help of a video via WhatsApp from the manager Fabio, it worked out easily. Contact with the manager was always easy, helpful and very nice! After a week we were provided with fresh linen and towels. The old mill is superbly equipped. There is a wide variety of dishes available. The building itself was nice and cool due to the stone walls during the day and pleasantly warm in the evening (when it got cooler at night - September). There are fly screens in front of every window, so you can leave the windows open at night to ventilate! The pool was fantastic and the grill also worked excellently. A beautiful meadow all around. You are very alone there - that has to be clear to you. You are already dependent on a car. But we loved this solitude! Overall we had a wonderful 12 nights!

Summer vacation
I can only recommend the holiday home for anyone who likes to go on an active holiday. There were four of us and we really enjoyed the beautiful, very mountainous area. However, if you want to go on a seaside holiday, you have to expect a 2-hour drive.

Great house in Tuscany - fantastic and unforgettable vacation
There were 4 of us in the house (2 children). The location of the house is wonderful. No mass tourism, this is the right place if you're looking for peace and quiet. Only a 2 minute walk to the river with a great swimming area and fishing opportunities (trout). The house is typically Tuscan, pleasantly cool at night even in August thanks to thick walls. Great private pool (9 x 4.50 and 1.20 deep). Everything is lovingly furnished and as described in the ad. The kitchen equipment is great. Everything has really been thought of. The nearest supermarket with a sufficient selection is 10 minutes away by car in Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. This is the nearest larger town. We really have to highlight the landlords. Fabio and Elisa are incredibly helpful. When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome gift. Fabio had even gotten a fishing permit for our son in advance. Unfortunately our car broke down on arrival. Fabio not only got us a workshop appointment, he even drove us and in the days when we didn't have a car and couldn't go shopping, he repeatedly offered us help and got us bread and brought us fruit from his garden. We always vacation in holiday homes and therefore have a lot of experience - and we have never had such a caring landlord before. A very big thank you! That rounded off the vacation. Highly Recommended!!!

Nature and relax

We are very happy with the holiday that has just ended and we thank Fabio for his kindness and constant availability and professionalism. A quiet place, almost out of time, where you wake up with the crowing of the rooster and the sound of the river. You can take walks immersed in nature, visit many suggestive places a few kilometers away, such as the Grotta del Vento, Lake Vagli and small villages. You can dive into the large swimming pool and sunbathe undisturbed from morning to evening, having lunch and dinner in the garden, in absolute relaxation! We absolutely recommend going! Very nice place to stay, inside and out. Everything was there that you need. Including a small welcome gift. The owner was friendly and always available for questions. Communication via Whatsapp app quickly and easily. He even brought us fresh raspberries. The area is particularly suitable for hiking. The location of the house is a bit isolated, but this is stated in the description. You have to like that. The next supermarket is about 10 minutes away by car and you have to rely on a car or something else if you want to experience something. We definitely recommend: Pisa, Lucca and Florence as well as the Orecchiella nature park and the Verrucole archeopark. The people everywhere were always friendly and helpful.

Beautiful location, perfect getaway

Lovely location next to crystal clear river for daily dip and jumping from rocks. Cosy house was well equipped and we were well looked after by Fabio. So much to do in and around the house, lots of historical towns and villages to visit and overall you can find local places to eat with fantastic food. Given the mountainous terrain there are lots of outdoor activities to suit more the adventurous ones.

Place to relax

This villa is in a great location, with easy access by train or car to Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The villa had everything we needed to have a wonderful holiday which we did. It is one of the few Villas we have stayed that we would like to come back to. The directions we're very good making it easy to find. Would definitely recommend this villa to family and friends.

The house is very nice and quiet on a riverbed, it is a beautiful cottage with a great pool. For excursions you usually have to drive a bit by car, but that's also possible. The landlords were very friendly! Definitely recommended.

We had the most wonderful time, the property was lovely, and beautifully clean with everything we could have needed, we were very grateful for the welcome gifts that were left for us. The setting was wonderful and while we enjoyed exploring Tuscany and the magnificent scenery, we also had some lovely peaceful time at the property and made good use of the pool. The only problem was that one week wasn't long enough. We hope to visit again soon.

This is my favourite spot in the world to stay so much so i travelled all the way from Australia this is the second time i have stayed here. Fabio and his lovey wife and children , just go above and beyond to have everything in the house for you even the wine was there when we arrived, the house was clean the bed linen fresh, this a gem of a spot right on the river just divine.

We stayed at the house for 11 days and loved everything about it. The house was clean and was equipped with everything one possibly could need. The garden was fantastic, and the pool was just the right size and depth (130 cm) for both us and the kids (8 and 6 years old) to enjoy. 20 meters from the house was the riverbed where we also could take a swim, although the water was much colder. Fabio and his wife Elise were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The last evening they invited us to their own home for home made Italian pizza, which was delicious and so appreciated. We would love to return some day, and we can really recommend this house to others.Thanks again Fabio and Elise

We really enjoyed the 4 days spent in the restored mill. The location is approximately 1.5hrs north of Pisa and 1hr away from Lucca, both can easily reached via road or a train that can be caught nearby. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants to eat in the nearby town and a supermarket. The property caters very well for its visitors and the owner has clearly put a lot of thought into what is required for its guests, including cooking utensils, condiments, towels, you just literally have to turn up with your clothes and a tooth brush. I would highly recommend this villa, although to use of a car to reach it is essential, but you shall get to see parts of Italy others do not see.

A wonderful place in Tuscany ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We had a wonderful time in Al Mulin del Isola. The house has all the necessary equipment in a faultless condition. The whole house, as well as the grounds and the pool are very well maintained and the location right on the river is really magical.
The landlord was unbelievable, helpful and friendly, and helped us to spend a wonderful holiday in Tuscany.
We will definitely be back!

| Romantic ,charming getaway set in the Tuscany hillside, we stayed here for two weeks and loved every second, there is plenty to do and see around the area but you really won't want to leave this charming mill and its beautiful gardens. we have used owners direct for many years and this is one of the best equipped properties we've stayed in. The owners are so warm and welcoming and can't do enough to help you enjoy your stay, can't wait to go back. |

Our stay at Al Mulin del Isola was perfect! We liked the location very much. A big nice maintained garden with a great pool, a little river nearby. Very quiet, even a dear passed by!
The house was also great! A nice well equipped kitchen, a cosy living room, a very large bedroom with great beds, a clean and convinient bathroom with a shower.
Our daughter slept in the open room you have to pass when you to to the bathroom. It was okay for us but it would be even be more perfect for her to hang a curtain overtreden to avoid the light when someone passed by.
When we arrived there was a great welcome with some first needs, a nice bottle of wine, flowers at the tables, everything was been thougt of. That mades us feel special.
Service was absolutely great! We hope to come again and enjoy an other stay at Il Mulin. |

The House really does everything it promises! We were there three and it was big enough that everyone could even be for themselves. The plot is super clean and situated in a very quiet spot, who would like to have his privacy, is just right. The Meadow behind the pool is perfect for Internet battles.
Best of all: due to its location it is in August at night cool (not unpleasant), that you can sleep without air-conditioning and there are virtually no mosquitos.
Fabio is a very nice and ready to help landlords.
A welcome package with regional products has rounded off our awesome stay. Highly recommended.

Delightful Property 5 stars
We spent 5 days at this converted water mill and were very pleased with our stay. It is well situated in a peaceful location with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. We particularly liked the swimming pool in the garden and also the very nearby river swimming. The cottage was well equipped and had sitting areas all around with sun or shade. We would most certainly stay here again. It is in a beautiful area of northern Tuscany and well worth visiting.
