Beautifully and sympathetically restored 3 bedroom village house + terrace in the small 12th century village of Convalle (385m asl) on the southern reaches of the Apuan Alps, approximately 25 minutes north of Lucca.
The house is a typical rustic dwelling with many original and traditional features (including beamed ceilings throughout) and is laid out over two floors, a cantina (cellar) and large sunny outside terrace (about 20 sqm).
On the ground floor there is a welcoming entrance room/dining area, an elegant fitted kitchen with wood burning stove, a comfortable living room and newly fitted shower room with window.. The first floor consists of 3 bedrooms, two double and a single. In the cantina there is a large cellar area which houses a washing machine and also a small wood store for the wood burning stove.
Parking is available in the car in the village car park about 100 metres away.
The quiet medieval village of Convalle is ideally situated for exploring the many different aspects of Tuscany with beaches (Viareggio 32km), stunning countryside on your doorstep, skiing (Abetone 56km) and the cultural centres of Lucca (22km), Pisa (55km) and Florence (88km).
Food vans offering fresh bread and other provisions visit the village car park on a regular basis, usually late mornings and just 10 minutes walk from the house is the “La Fonte” restaurant which is very highly regarded locally. A number of other restaurants can be reached within 10 minutes by car.
Just 1.5km away, Piegaio has a café, post-office, a couple of small grocers, butchers and chemist. There are more shops, including bank and cash machine in Diecimo (10 minutes) and a large supermarket at Marlia (20 minutes). Diecimo train station is on the main Pisa airport – Lucca – Aulla line.
