We had a wonderful week (12-19 August) at Pieve Fosciana - Borgo Fondo La Tera is a beautiful, friendly and convenient holiday home, and had just about everything we could have wanted.
Flaviano was so helpful and welcoming. It was a delight to talk to him and other residents in an impromptu pizza evening.
Il Pozzo, the restaurant in the village, was also excellent, wonderful food and very friendly staff.
Just Perfect! 5 stars

Had a wonderful holiday in a beautiful apartment (Mansarda). Everything was perfect both indoor and outdoor. Very rustic Italian with all mod cons and spotlessly clean throughout. Fabulous large pool, and beautiful gardens. Views to die for. Great hosts who could not do enough to help. Felt very relaxed and could not rate this accommodation in Pieve highly enough.
Great location and accommodation 5 stars

We spent a really enjoyable week staying in Villino in Pieve Fosciana. The house was renovated in true rustic Tuscan style with beautiful colours throughout and had plenty of space with a lovely roof terrace for relaxing after swimming in the fantastic pool which had the added bonus of being chlorine free. The garden around the pool was beautifully kept and spacious with great views of the mountains. We were not expecting the owner to be onsite but Flaviano could not have been more welcoming to us. He was always happy to help with any information we needed and recommendations on places to visit. He also treated us to a very informative day showing us how he milled his own locally grown maize into flour at the nearby watermill. He then gave as an amazing cookery demonstration where we learnt how to make tagliatelle with the flour we collected from the mill that day and by evening we were sitting down with the rest of his family to pizza and pasta! Delicious and all organic form earth to plate. During the week we were able to pick fresh tomatoes, courgettes, salad and herbs from the garden whenever we wanted and on arrival there was a complimentary bottle of red wine and one of prosecco produced by Flaviano from his own grapes! Both delicious. The village was only a two minute walk from the house with several cafes, couple of bakeries, very nice restaurant and a great icecream shop open until 11pm! Also two supermarkets just ten minutes walk from house. We explored nearby mountain villages by car such as San Pellegrino, Sillico, Castiglione di Garfagnana and slightly further the town of Lucca where we spent an enjoyable day. However relaxing by the pool was a real treat and we had lovely weather all week. The house was reasonably well equipped but additional crockery and glasses in the kitchen would have been useful and although Wifi was available at the reception area we were expecting it to be available in our apartment. However, none of this detracted from our holiday and Villino is a great place to stay. We hope to return in the near future and would not hesitate in recommending it and of course our wonderful host Flaviano.
A perfect hideaway
4 stars. A perfect hideaway.
A romantic apartment surrounded by countryside and views of mountains, in the picturesque village of Pieve Fosciana. Wake up to roosters and the church bells every morning. Walking distance from a good restaurant. Very peaceful and relaxing! Totally recommended.
“Perfect base to explore Garfagnana” 5 stars

Had a great couple of weeks at the Villino apartment in Pieve Fosciana. We were made really welcome by the owners, Flavio and family. The accommodation was generally well equipped and really spacious, and featured some great open space and fantastic pool. The apartment is situated adjacent to the owners' house, which meant they were always on hand if we needed anything. Flavio kept us stocked with tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines and potatoes from the garden and the family treated us to a pizza making night, dishing up a variety of pizzas, including a chocolate one! There's also a really good restaurant and several cafés within easy walking distance. Pieve Fosciana is just a few minutes drive from the town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and the ideal base for exploring the area – we visited many of the hillside towns in the area, and our wider range trips included Lucca and Florence. The coast is also a comfortable day trip. All in a really enjoyable stay and highly recommended.
